The G15 responds to Government’s Social Housing Green Paper

On 14 August this year government launched its social housing green paper: a ‘new deal’ for social housing. Billed as a “wide-ranging top-to-bottom review of the issues facing the sector”, it was intended to kick-start a national conversation on social housing.

Today the G15 has submitted its response, which can be viewed here. It is the product of an extensive consultation exercise involving many hundreds of residents and staff and in-depth discussions with senior officials from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The G15 sees the response as the beginning of a productive conversation with MHCLG and hopes to engage in a continuing dialogue with Ministers and officials to help shape the future direction of social housing policy.
